Akebono supports automotive OEMs, Tier I suppliers and aftermarket brake pad customers around the world through its Asia-Europe-North America tri-polar network of operations. This strategy enables us to tailor brake applications to vehicles and driving tastes distinct to each of these regions. Once optimized, Akebono friction material and brake innovations are leveraged worldwide to better serve the global automotive industry.

R&D technical centers for advanced friction and brake product research, including noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) performance, are located in Farmington Hills, Michigan (United States); Saitama, Japan; Gonesse Cedex, France; and Limburg, Germany. These facilities feature world-class engineers and are equipped with more than 100 chassis dynamometers, more than any other brake supplier in the industry. In addition, Akebono operates production facilities in Asia, Europe and North America. Such manpower and equipment resources allow Akebono to support individual vehicle programs and conduct ongoing R&D before, during and after a product’s launch to optimize its performance.
