Job Title: CAE Engineer

Akebono Corporation (North America) d/b/a Akebono Brake Corporation in Farmington Hills, Michigan seeks a CAE engineer to lead advanced structural, thermal, fatigue, and NVH studies

DUTIES

Create 3D component and system FE (finite element) models based on native CAD format with proper boundary and loading conditions using Abaqus/CAE, and Hypermesh; Conduct dynamic and transient analyses for stress, stiffness, and displacement, using linear and non-linear material/geometry approach considering thermal effects using Abaqus/Standard; Apply Abaqus/Standard for coupled thermo-physical, thermal, structural and NVH analysis; Conduct frequency response analysis with periodic loading conditions, through validation of material properties as well as component interfaces, during the model correlation process;
Perform fatigue analysis from stress calculation to predict high cycle and thermo-mechanical fatigue life; Perform DOE (design of experiment) to minimize component stress and displacement; Perform Multi-body simulations using ADAMS; Develop software code (Matlab/C) to enhance CAE applications.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Require Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 3 years’ experience in a CAE engineering role, or a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 5 years’ experience in a CAE engineering role.
Work experience must include conducting thermal, coupled thermo-physical, and NVH (modal and frequency response) analyses using Abaqus/Standard; Work experience must include creating FE models using Abaqus/CAE; Work experience must include performing Fatigue analysis on chassis components; Programming experience in Matlab/C is required; Education or experience must include building multi-body models utilizing ADAMS.
